17 A group of people from Calgary/Okotoks/High
River area (primarily from Okotoks Alliance Church) will be
returning to the Ruweng area in Sudan in November 2008 – January
2009 to manufacture and distribute BioSand water filters and help
construct a hospital. Friends Who Care, their organization, will be
hosting a fundraising event July 17 at the Foothills Centennial
Center in Okotoks, the evening will include a banquet, silent
auction and entertainment by local Sudanese (the Ruweng people are
known throughout Sudan for their traditional dance). One hundred
percent of the proceeds from the evening will go towards the
purchase and shipping of drilling rig and equipment for the
