CrossTraining is a consortium of Churches, Bible Colleges and Mission Agencies, serving together to provide a personalized and uniquely designed approach to effectively equip Christians for cross-cultural ministry. Full-time participants in CrossTraining will find themselves engaged in a four-month practicum in Calgary and a three-month overseas internship. Prairie Bible College is Canada’s oldest Bible College. It specializes in training effective workers for churches and other Christian ministries — both at home and in the mission fields of the world. There are a variety of four-year Bachelor’s degrees, two-year Associate of Arts programs and one-year certificates. In September 2006, Prairie opened the first college in Canada deliberately created to offer two-year vocational programs in conjunction with Christian higher education. Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology offers programs in the areas of health care and early childhood care. The new college will allow students to graduate with a two-year Associate of Arts that contains courses in Bible as well as earn a provincially recognized diploma in their chosen vocational field — equipping students for a profession as well as for roles in the international mission of the Church. In a recent audit, Transport Canada indicated that Prairie students score higher on their flight tests and written scores compared to students at other Transport Canada licensed facilities across the nation. Prairie’s desire is to continue to offer excellent mission aviation training. To ensure this, the program will now be offered through the newly created Prairie School of Mission Aviation.

Rosebud’s acting program reaches new heights
with two dynamic faculty additions.
The recent addition of David Snider and Jeany Van Meltebeke has injected dynamic energy into the acting program at Rosebud School of the Arts. Van Meltebeke welcomes the conversation about marrying a desire for theatre and knowing God. She notes that, "Rosebud seems unique in wanting to have that dialogue as part of its core experience." Snider echoes a similar view. "I hope to become more rooted in the spirit of authenticity that I find is welcomed and championed in Rosebud. From that place, I hope to be more present with both my brokenness, and the bold, passionate voice I have as a storyteller."
