CUPS to paint a
picture of hope
by Roger Adda
Just for a moment,
imagine a city without violence, where a woman need not be afraid of
domestic abuse, where a child is not left behind in the pursuit of hope
and happiness. This could be our city and the goal of Calgary Urban
Project Society’s (CUPS) PAINT A PICTURE OF HOPE expansion campaign is
to do this. The mission of CUPS has always been to seek through
compassionate healthcare and social and educational services to nurture
and promote healing to those that have been rejected or neglected by
society. To empower and not enable. To help Calgarians in need go from
Surviving to Thriving.
CALGARY, AB – This summer, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
brings Rock the River Tour to Western Canada. The first-ever Rock the
River Tour attracted tens of thousands of people last year when it
debuted in the U.S. with a series of day-long concerts along the
Mississippi River. Packed with positive messages and music from some of
Christian music’s top hard rock and hip-hop bands, Rock the River Tour
West arrives in Calgary on Aug. 21.
